The Pirouettes of Texas or 'PTX' is dedicated to promoting the sport of artistic (synchronized) swimming. Established in 1985, PTX is the oldest and most decorated synchronized swimming club in North Texas.
We identify and develop the next generation of talented athletes, and instill its members with the confidence, discipline, sportsmanship, and poise, needed to face any of life's challenges. We offer both recreational and competitive tracks for youth and masters alike.

For novice swimmers ages 6 and above
Our Starfish program (novice swimmers ages 6+) introduces kids to synchronized swimming using age-appropriate land conditioning and water exercises, teaching them basic skills and teamwork. Kids who love being in the water and who like music, dance or gymnastics often enjoy synchro — and this program is ideal for those trying the sport for the very first time.
Starfish practice two days per week, compete in in-state novice-level competitions and perform in holiday shows.
Non-competitive team ages 8 and above
Our Mermaid program (intermediate swimmers ages 8+) offers the fitness benefits and camaraderie of synchronized swimming without the additional practice and travel commitments of our competitive team. The Mermaid program is for older beginners, beginners with strong swimming skills and body awareness, and Starfish who want to continue developing skills but not compete in out-of-state meets.
Mermaid participants practice either two or three days per week.assign routines based on swimmers' skill levels, their commitment and their competition age groups (based on birth year): 12 and Under, 13-15, 16-17, 18-19, Junior (elite athletes ages 15-18) and Senior (elite athletes ages 15 and older). Pirouette swimmers practice 10+ hours per week.
12& Under, 13-15, Junior A & B, and Senior Teams
The teams consists of athletes ages 6-19 who train to compete in association, regional, South Zone, national and international championships. Many of our Pirouette swimmers began as PTX intermediate (Mermaid) and novice (Starfish) swimmers. Our Pirouette team's season runs from August to June.
We offer age-specific training that challenges each swimmer to the best of their abilities, incorporating exercises both in the water and on deck. Coaches assign routines based on swimmers' skill levels, their commitment and their competition age groups (based on birth year): 12 and Under, 13-15, 16-17, 18-19, Junior (elite athletes ages 15-18) and Senior (elite athletes ages 15 and older). Pirouette swimmers practice 10+ hours per week.
