PTX doesn't have any athletes headed to the Olympics in Rio this summer. But in the spirit of international cooperation, we welcomed four swimmers and a coach from the Korean Synchro Federation to Texas this morning, greeting them at DFW Airport with signs and lots of cheer. The four Korean swimmers will train with PTX and compete as part of our 12 and Under and 13-15 teams at Junior Olympic Nationals in New York at the end of this month.
We're so excited for this group to join our PTX family and look forward to learning from each other, celebrating our respective cultures and sharing synchro skills and techniques. And we can't wait to show our guests some real Texas/American hospitality over the coming weeks. 환영 (Welcome), Korean friends!
We're so proud to share that senior Becca Barlow will be continuing her synchro career at the University of the Incarnate Word in the fall.
We'll miss Becca next year, but we're thrilled that she'll be staying in state and can't wait to see her swim for UIW. Go Word!
National Team Trials
In January, PTX 12-and-Under swimmers Kennison and Nathalia traveled to Coral Springs, Fla., to participate in U.S. National Team Trials.
This was Nathalia's first trip to Trials, while Kennison swam in Round Two after qualifying through Round One last year. Both girls gained valuable experience and look forward to improving on their standings next year.
